We offer a variety of
training opportunities for school leaders at all levels
of leadership. We have programmes and other support
designed for individuals and teams. We can help
teachers, head teachers and support staff develop their
effectiveness as leaders or work with you as a leader to
develop strategies to improve your school. These
opportunities can be provided in your school or at a
suitable local venue. Examples are given below:
School leadership programmes:
EMLC designs and provides leadership development
programmes for individual schools. Programmes typically involve a number of
sessions delivered over a period of time with work-based activities between sessions. The benefit to
the organisation is a bespoke programme designed to raise
standards.

Leadership programmes for multi-disciplinary teams in
integrated children's centres:
EMLC designs and provides leadership development
programmes for integrated children's centres. Programmes typically involve a number of
sessions delivered over a period of time with work-based activities between sessions. The benefit to
the organisation is a bespoke programme designed to raise
standards, develop team working and achieve the aims of
the Every Child Matters agenda.
Support for schools and teams in need of
rapid improvement:
EMLC has developed a support package designed to help
schools or teams achieve rapid improvement. The package
is based on a recognised and effective change management
process and makes use of remodelling tools and
techniques to engage people in the improvement process.
Support staff consultancy:
EMLC offers a complete service designed to identify and
meet the wide and varied needs of support staff. We
offer support with training needs analysis and planning
training as well as training tailored to the needs of particular
groups such as cover supervisors or school
administrators with the aim of increasing personal
effectiveness.
Collaborative learning:
EMLC offers a programme for senior leaders based on
facilitated face-to-face sessions and a series of school
visits. Each visit will focus on issues relevant to
participants and be designed to enable participants to
bring about school improvement.
Futures project:
EMLC and NCSL have worked together to develop think
pieces from national and international agencies and
businesses describing the signs of change and a possible
future reality based on current evidence. Futures will
provide an opportunity for school leaders to develop
their strategic leadership by engaging in this research
and being involved in cutting edge thinking at seminars
or conferences.
Other school based coaching, training and
consultancy:
EMLC provides coaching, consultancy and
training on a range of current educational topics such
as strategic planning, change management, data handling,
self-evaluation, new approaches to leadership,
performance management, project management, tackling
under achievement and workforce remodelling. We can
arrange workshops covering an agreed agenda.
