National Professional
Qualification for Headship (NPQH)
EMLC is responsible, on behalf of
the National College for School Leadership for the graduation stage of the
redesigned NPQH in all parts of England. We are timetabling
graduation boards for trainee heads at a range of venues across the
country.
Until 31
March 2009 there is a transitional arrangement allowing those with a
place on the programme to be appointed to a first headship. However,
from 1 April 2009 only those who have successfully completed NPQH will
be able to be appointed to their first substantive headship position in
a maintained school.

To find out
more about NPQH, please visit
the
NCSL website. You can find details of the application process
and about the design of the qualification there. There are four
application windows each year.
