TDA Regional Centre

Steve HopkinsThe Local Authorities in the East Midlands have a strong tradition of regional collaboration. Since it was set up three years ago this web based facility – kindly managed for the region by the EMLC – has provided a means of enhancing this collaboration. In my role as the East Midlands regional adviser for the TDA I use the site to provide colleagues in local authorities and other organisations with resources and information relevant to their work linked to the TDA's remit. The site also provides a mechanism for colleagues to share resources with one another.

Steve Hopkins, TDA Regional Adviser

EMLC and the TDA Agenda

The work of the TDA in the regions is commissioned to the Centre for Educational Leadership (CEL) who, in turn, contract a range of organisations to run TDA Regional Centres.  The Regional Centre for the East Midlands is hosted by EMLC.

The work of the TDA in the East Midlands and other regions centres on a combination of national, regional and local priorities.  This combined agenda is driven by Regional Delivery Partnerships.

The focus of the East Midlands Regional Delivery Partnership is on:

  • Delivering regional targets through building capacity in the region.

  • Providing innovation and intelligence from the field to build practice at regional and national level.

  • Strengthening links with other field forces on specific programmes.health and education workshop

The members of the East Midlands RDP include:  Stephen Hopkins, the TDA regional adviser, Matthew Payne, the TDA Regional Relationship Management Consultant, Jane Thomas and Kate McKenna of EMLC, the Regional Programme Leaders, Kelly Neave and Margo Smeathers of EMLC, the Regional Centre Coordinators, Simon Vanden, responsible for Targeted Youth Support, and a range of partner organisations, contracted centrally to support local integrated delivery including Continyou, 4Children, the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC), and Together for Children.
